Neil McGee is a Ph.D. Candidate at Columbia University studying the history of Chinese religions. His dissertation, "Mysterious Teachings: Mongol patronage and state-sponsored Daoism in late Yuan China" (currently in progress), analyzes the impact of Mongol rule on the history of Daoism.
